Disneyland is celebrating an exciting milestone with its 70th anniversary. With it, comes some exciting parades, entertainment, and much more!
The 70th brings lots of Pixar and Toy Story fun! Disneyland has a history of being Pixar heavy when it comes to special events and milestones. Also, in general, the park has many Pixar rides, Pixar-inspired food, and character meet and greets which I'll cover in a separate post!
First off, and this is my ultimate favorite, is the Paint the Night parade. Sadly, I have never seen this parade, but judging from all the videos I've seen of this parade, I'm so obsessed with it. I'm hoping to see this in the spring when we go!

This parade is so exciting to me because of the lights, the music, the choreography, the floats, and the general excitement that seems to fill the air. It originally debuted for Disneyland's 60th anniversary (10 years ago which is crazy!) and has been off and on before being discontinued until the 70th.

The Pixar offerings are Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., and Cars. For the Cars segment, Mack really brings the party with his lights and music. Sulley graces his float with spinning doors. And for Toy Story? Jessie has some amazing dance breaks with her cowgirl backups. Obviously this is my favorite part, and probably one of my most favorite things ever. Woody and Buzz sit atop a huge Slinky Dog float.
Paint the Night is dubbed the best nighttime parade by fans, and I fully agree! Below is a great, 4K video taken from LMG Vids. I recommend full screen or on a tv for the full effect!
Next up, over at Disney California Adventure (where you can find many everyday Pixar offerings), is the Better Together: Pixar Pals Parade!

This is self-explanatory as all of our favorite Pixar pals come out to play! My obvious favorite part is at the end where Buzz and Jessie are together on top of the last float (kind of like how Mickey and Minnie are depicted in some parades since they are the main couple)! Better Together debuted during the Pixar Fest last spring and has been brought back for the 70th.
Disney is known for their character dance parties at their parks. You can usually find dance parties during events, night time offerings, or just general areas of the park with various characters.

Over at Disney California Adventure, you can get down with your favorite Pixar pals during the Pixar Pals Playtime Party! This also debuted during Pixar Fest last spring and is proven to be a fan favorite!
Characters from Inside Out, Toy Story, and the Incredibles are on hand to dance along with you to popular tunes!
Lastly, Toy Story Mania has some 70th details in it as well. The targets depict the 70th logo throughout the ride. A very fun detail to incorporate with the ride!

UPDATES:
So with fall and the holidays just around the corner, sources have reported some changes to these offerings.
For fall, Better Together will take a hiatus until early 2026. Paint the Night will still run until after Halloween.
For the holidays, Paint the Night will take a break and return in early 2026 (hopefully after New Years). The Christmas Fantasy Parade and other entertainment will be back for the holiday season, so it is disappointing that those who wanted to see these parades won't be able to.
Personally, I'm really hoping the 70th comes back full force in January. I've already made myself a Jessie hat to wear during the Paint the Night parade when I go in the spring:

If you've been to the 70th anniversary, what has your favorite thing been?
