In this blog post, let's explore the limited edition 2010 Jessie the Yodeling Cowgirl doll!

A Blast from the Past: The Jessie Doll Launch!
Let me take you back to June 17, 2010! Toy Story 3 had just hit theaters, and the excitement was through the roof! Can you believe it? I was in the city that very day, totally oblivious to this amazing event happening right under my nose (Green Day was in town, and I was all about that!). I still kick myself for missing it!
Over at the Disney Store on Michigan Avenue, the fabulous Joan Cusack made a special appearance. She was there to promote Toy Story 3 and sign autographs for fans on the limited edition Jessie doll! How cool is that? There were only 2,010 of these beauties made, and I believe the store gave out a certain number to guests to be signed by Joan. The doll retailed for $79.90, which is a steal for such a collectible!
This event looked like such a good time! I still feel that FOMO from missing it 15 years later!
The Heartbreak of a Closed Store
Unfortunately, this Disney Store closed during the pandemic. It was such a hard one to lose! The building was customized just for it, with characters engraved in the columns outside. I used to visit frequently when I worked downtown just a few blocks away.

But here’s the good news! I found this Jessie doll a few years later on eBay! I was beyond excited when I won the auction. My collection finally feels complete with it!

The Sparkle of Jessie
The doll itself is so glittery and... maybe a little too girly for Jessie? But hey, it’s a fantastic doll that proudly sports the "Limited Edition" title to highlight her role in Toy Story 3! Cowgirls are known for rhinestones, so it makes sense to glam her up a bit! Plus, Jessie was the only character to get a special, limited edition doll. How special is that?
The Toy Story 3 era brought us better Jessie sculpted faces by Thinkway Toys and a little bit by Mattel. However, the Disney Store still had some work to do in perfecting Jessie. I always thought the dolls from the Disney Store back then had monster hands! But you know what? The Toy Story 3 era was such a special time for me and many others. The toys from that period hold so much sentimental value!
What's Your Favorite Toy Story Treasure?
If you collect Toy Story, which toy is your pride and joy? I’d love to hear about it! Let’s keep the conversation going!
