the toys

1 / Sheriff Woody

Woody, voiced by Tom Hanks, first made his debut in the first Toy Story film in 1995. The cowboy is the main protagonist of the four films, leader of Andy's toys, and Bo Peep's love interest. He is depicted as caring, compassionate, yet shows a jealous streak and can be stubborn. In the end, his love for his owners and toy family come through and benefits everyone in the end. Presently, he is considered a "lost toy" and traveling the world with Bo Peep after leaving Buzz and his friends behind at Bonnie's.

Buzz, voiced by Tim Allen, first made his debut in the first Toy Story film in 1995. He first arrived to Andy's room where he and Woody started off as enemies. Buzz also didn't realize he was a toy and would keep trying to find his spaceship back to Star Command (a part of his franchise). As the story goes on, Buzz realizes he's just a toy and from then on and in the rest of the films, Buzz and Woody share a close friendship and Buzz becomes Woody's second in command. Buzz is brave, confident, caring, has a Spanish mode, and extremely loyal to Woody. Buzz is also Jessie the Yodelin' Cowgirl's boyfriend and the two often stick close to each other. In Woody's absence, Buzz will be Jessie's deputy in Toy Story 5.

3/ Jessie the Yodelin' Cowgirl
Jessie, voiced by Joan Cusack, first made her debut in Toy Story 2 after Woody gets kidnapped by a toy collector and finds out he's part of an old franchise called "Woody's Roundup". At first, Jessie appears jealous of Woody having an owner, but we learn she has a tragic past of being abandoned by her previous owner. Woody comes to understand her better and offers for her to come back to Andy's room with him. Jessie is Woody's counterpart and the two share a sibling-like relationship in the films where they fight, yet are protective of one another. The cowgirl is freakishly strong, caring, excitable, yet has PTSD from being trapped in a box. Jessie is also Buzz Lightyear's girlfriend, and often seeks comfort and support from him. In the present, Jessie is now the new Sheriff to Bonnie's/Andy's toys and will have a prominent role in Toy Story 5.

5/ Mr. Potato Head
Mr. Potato Head, voiced by the late Don Rickles, first made his debut in the first Toy Story in 1995. The wisecrack of the group, he is depicted to be unfiltered, often arrogant, and sarcastic. He gives Woody a run for his money and often causes arguments amongst the toys. He is also, at times, the comedic relief by making unprompted quips in the films. Deep down though, he does have a soft side, especially for his wife, the Mrs. and their three alien children. Along with his wife, the ability to remove his body parts and use them at the advantage to help the group of toys out of a predictment has proved extremely helpful throughout the films.
6/ Mrs. Potato Head
Mrs. Potato Head, voiced by the late Estelle Harris, first made her debut in Toy Story 2 as Andy's Christmas present as hinted at the end of the first Toy Story. She is completely in love with her husband and the two are often very affectionate. She is nurturing, yet loud, but exudes a motherly instinct, especially towards her three alien sons. Like her husband, she has the ability to remove her body parts to use them to help the toys out of a predictment throughout the films.

7/ Slinky Dog
Slinky Dog, voiced by the late Jim Varney in Toy Story 1 and 2, and Blake Clark currently, first made his debut in the first Toy Story film in 1995. "Slink" is very loyal to Woody by always sticking up for him and loves to play checkers with the cowboy. Slinky also is capable of extending his body so the toys can scale down a house, or he can grab something from a distance.

8/ Hamm
Hamm, voiced by John Ratzenberger, made his debut in the first Toy Story film in 1995. Hamm is the jokester of the group and also goes with the flow, often accepting things as it is. Affectionally deemed the villain in Andy's playtimes as "Evil Doctor Porkchop", the piggybank and Mr. Potato Head often exchange sarcastic remarks and play poker together.

9/ Bullseye
Bullseye made his debut in Toy Story 2 alongside Jessie. Bullseye is very close to Jessie and the two share a deep bond where they both are always right there to comfort one another. Bullseye is Woody's horse from the "Woody's Roundup" franchise along with Jessie and Stinky Pete and has a dog like personality. Bullseye is very loyal to both Woody and Jessie, and often trots after one of them. He is very dependable when Woody or Jessie need him, plus he can run at insane speeds, as shown at the end of Toy Story 2 when he helped Woody and Buzz rescue Jessie.

10/ Bo Peep
Bo Peep, voiced by Annie Potts, made her debut in the first Toy Story film in 1995. Bo is Woody's love interest and portrayed as a damsel in distress during playtimes where Woody would save her. In Toy Story 4, it was shown that Andy's sister, Molly, was ready to donate her and she and Woody spent many years apart until they reunite unexpectedly with Bo being an independent "lost toy" at will. After much convincing and realizing his current owner, Bonnie, was outgrowing him, Woody decided to stay with Bo and live the type of freedom Bo claims with being a "lost toy". In Toy Story 4, her personality turns a one-eighty from the first two films and she is depicted as being just as smart, strong, and confident.

11/ Little Green Men ("LGMS")
2 / Buzz Lightyear
4/ Rex
Rex, voiced by Wallace Shawn, first made his debut in the first Toy Story film in 1995. Rex displays a timid, nervous, yet innocent behavior throughout all the films, but does join the toys on the adventures. He looks up to Buzz and loves to play the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command video game. Rex's gentle and innocent nature makes him an extremely lovable character.

The LGMS made their debut in the first Toy Story film in 1995. They are a mascot of sorts to Pizza Planet and can be found in the claw machine. In Toy Story 2, we meet the three main LGMS when Mr. Potato Head saves them from flying out of the Pizza Planet truck. After saving them, the LGMS keep reitering that they are "eternally grateful" to Mr. Potato Head, and as annoying as it is, it ends up saving his and all of the toys' lives. They are also adopted by the Potato Heads and are considered Mrs. Potato Head's "babies".

the Owners

Andy Davis
Andy, voiced by John Morris, is the original owner of Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Rex, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Bullseye, Hamm, Bo Peep, Slinky, RC, Lenny, Mr. Spell, Mr. Mike, and Wheezy. Andy appeared in Toy Story 1, 2, and 3 as a grown boy. Andy loved his toys and kept him all the way until he was 17, which he then lovingly donated them to a girl named Bonnie.

Woody was Andy's favorite toy, and the cowboy often competed for Andy's attention, especially after Andy got Buzz as a Christmas gift. Over the years, Andy is shown to still be attached to Woody. He even wanted to take Woody to college with him.

At the end of Toy Story 3, it is evident that Andy still cares deeply for his toys, and has one final playtime with them after passing them off to Bonnie. He claims "they mean a lot to me".

Andy's family consists of his mother and his little sister, Molly, who is the original owner of Bo Peep and Barbie.

Bonnie Anderson
Bonnie is the next owner of Andy's toys and we are also introduced to her other toys that become prominent to the story; Dolly, Trixie, Mr. Pricklepants, Buttercup, Chuckles, and the Peas in a Pod. Bonnie is a whimsical and shy little girl and instantly takes a loving to Andy's toys. As Bonnie grows up and starts Kindergarten, she has become more attached to Jessie, leaving Woody feeling neglected in Toy Story 4. However, Bonnie takes really good care of all of her toys for the most part. Bonnie will be eight years old in Toy Story 5 and get into technology more than her toys. More to come when more information drops!

the Villians

Sid
Sid Phillips is the next door neighbor of Andy and his family. Sid is very diabolical with his toys by "experimenting" on them with switching body parts and blowing them up. Woody and Buzz find themselves in Sid's clutches and work together to escape and return home to Andy.

Prospector "Stinky" Pete
Prospector "Stinky" Pete may seem nice and reasonable at first, but eventually the audience learns he has a darker motive. As part of the Woody's Roundup set, he is "mint in the box" and brainwashes Woody (and possibly Jessie) about how they are all more valuable at the museum in Japan than in the arms of a child. In reality, it's his envy and jealousy at never being played with that makes him turn on Woody and tries to force the group of Woody's Roundup toys to Japan.

Lotso Huggin' Bear
Yes, he's a hugger! However, don't let his strawberry huggable nature fool you. In reality, Lotso runs the toy operation at Sunnyside Daycare like a prison, which ultimately, the toys will have to escape. He's downright pure evil driven by bitterness at being replaced by his past owner. He resets Buzz into demo mode which makes the space ranger turn on his friends. At the end of the day, Lotso betrays the toys rendering them in a situation they deem hopeless.

Gabby Gabby and Benson
There is something unsettling at the Secondhand Antiques shop, and that is Gabby Gabby and her henchmen of Benson dolls that helps do her bidding. Gabby is consumed with the need to be loved and played with, especially by a little girl named Harmony, but her voice box is broken. Realizing Woody has a voice box, she strives to convince him to hand over his voice box, which ultimately tries to violently take it from him. At the end of the day, her and Woody make a bargain, but it does not go as planned as she is rejected by Harmony, which leads her on a different, yet favorable path.
